Important Things to Know for 2011-2012


  1. The Taylor ISD Cafeteria Plan year for supplemental benefits will begin on December 1, 2011 and end on November 30, 2012. The plan year for TRS Medical will be 09/1/11 through 08/31/12.


  2. Online enrollment for the 2011-2012 plan year will begin November 14, 2011 and will end on November 22, 2011.


  3. Flexible Spending Accounts: NBS will be the new Cafeteria Plan and FSA Third Party Administrator (TPA) effective 12/1/2011. The Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement plan year is December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012. The maximum amount you can contribute to your Healthcare Reimbursement is $2,500 and the Dependent Care Reimbursement maximum is $5,000 if married filing jointly and $2500 if filing single.


  4. NBS Flex Card: All participants of the Healthcare Reimbursement FSA will receive an NBS Visa Flex Card at no cost to you. Please remember to keep your receipts for all flex card transactions.


  5. Vision: Block Vision will be the new vision plan provider for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2011. Co-pays: $5.00 eye exam co-pay and $0 eyewear co-pay for in network providers. Members can receive benefits every 12 month on exams, frames, lenses and contact lenses. See plan brochure for further information and rates.


  6. Dental: Dearborn Dental will be the new dental plan provider for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2011. The Dearborn PPO Dental plan offers a High and Low plan option. See plan brochure for further information and rates.


  7. Group Term Life: Dearborn National will be the new Group Term Life plan provider for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2011. New Employees can enroll on a guarantee issue basis for up to $120,000, spouse for up to $50,000 and child(ren) for $10,000 with no health questions required (subject to actively at work/life requirement).   8. Cancer Insurance: Loyal American will be the new Cancer plan provider for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2012. This is a group cancer product that will be issued without “health questions asked”. Pre-existing condition exclusions do apply. See plan brochure for further information and rates.


  9. Disability Plan: Unum Educator Select Plan is the new disability plan for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2012. Employees can enroll on a guarantee issue basis (no health questions asked). Guarantee issue coverage is subject to pre-existing condition exclusions. See plan brochure for further information and rates.


  10. Accident Plan: Loyal American will be the new Accident for Taylor ISD effective 12/1/2012. The plan pays benefit amounts for covered medical expenses as a result from an accident, directly to you! Coverage is available for ages18-64. See plan brochure for further information and rates.
